Pultusk Academy
of Humanities
The history of Pultusk Academy of Humanities is a continuation of the history of Pultusk
School of Humanities established on 14th July, 1994. Ten years have been enough time for
the School to arrange for its own educational facilities, including the impressive Central
Library named after Andrzej Bartnicki, the First Rector of Pu tusk School of Humanities. The
Academy of Humanities Central Library was founded in 1995. Its contemporary building
– which has all the essential amenities expected of a modern library, comprises a total of
2,000 square meters of floor space, opened its doors in the academic year 2001-2002. In
celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Academy, its Central Library was named after
Andrzej Bartnicki, the first Rector of Pultusk Academy of Humanities. The library collections
number 135 thousand volumes altogether, in print or on CDs. They cover 20th century
books and periodicals, as well as publications issued prior to 1900. The fifteen years of its
continuous educational effort have enriched the Polish thought and resulted in the School’s
ranking high in the Polish educational sector. Under Decision of the Minister of Science and
Higher Education dated 19th September, 2006, Pultusk School of Humanities has been
renamed Pultusk Academy of Humanities, AH. On the grounds of the decision by the
Ministry of Science and Higher Education Pultusk Academy of Humanities established in
London an Off-Campus Educational Centre, which undoubtedly is a recognition of the high
quality of education in our college. Except Pultusk Academy of Humanities only four other
Polish colleges have the right to establish the Off-Campus Centre in London.
