The 4-year programme stands in compliance with North American standards. The first
two years comprise mainly of pre-clinical courses. Upon their completion, students
may take Step 1 of the United States Medical License Examination (USMLE). Clinical
courses are taught in the third and fourth year. Some courses may be taken in the
student’s home country as a part of clinical rotations. After the third year, students may
take Step 2 of the USMLE or Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination
(MCCEE) to apply for residency programmes in the United States or Canada.
