Within this course, students learn the principles and applications of modern experimental
techniques, fundamentals of materials science, ultra-high vacuum and
low-temperature technologies, crystal-growth techniques and methods of investigation
of their mechanical, electrical, optical and thermal properties. Associated
theoretical issues are presented. Applying computers to control measurements and
professionally analyze experimental data, as well as presenting results according to
high-scientific standards are taught. Students take part in research projects, and on
that basis prepare their M.Sc. theses. Research areas include, e.g., surface and interface
physics, nanomaterials, thin-film physics, physics of dielectrics and applications
of nuclear methods in solid state physics.

To access our graduate Studies in Experimental Physics a candidate is required to
have a Bachelor’s Degree in related area and to meet English language requirements.
Students are expected to have knowledge of general physics, basic quantum
mechanics and introductory solid state physics
