Warsaw University of Life Sciences –SGGW (WULS–SGGW) is among the premier<br />

Polish <strong>in</strong>stitutions of higher education. It educates experts for the broad sense needs of the<br />

national biosphere. It offers wide-rang<strong>in</strong>g programmes of study – from biological and technical,<br />

through veter<strong>in</strong>ary medic<strong>in</strong>e, economics to humanities. All of them are <strong>in</strong>valuable for<br />

the future development of <strong>Poland</strong>. WULS –SGGW has been declared number 1 <strong>in</strong> the<br />

rank<strong>in</strong>gs of life sciences universities and has always been <strong>in</strong> the top ten of Polish higher education<br />

<strong>in</strong>stitutiosns. WULS –SGGW has obta<strong>in</strong>ed the glorious title of “A Student friendly university”.<br />

It is worth mention<strong>in</strong>g that our graduates are satisfied with the choices they have<br />

made. Great majority declares that they would chose the same school and faculty if such<br />

decision was to be made for the second time. WULS–SGGW – <strong>in</strong>ternational cooperation.<br />

WULS–SGGW is a member of prestigious <strong>in</strong>ternational organizations. S<strong>in</strong>ce 1990<br />

WULS–SGGW has actively participated <strong>in</strong> the European programmes as an Associate country,<br />

a Candidate Country and s<strong>in</strong>ce 2004 as a EU Member State. Currently, the staff of<br />

WULS–SGGW participates <strong>in</strong> European educational and research programmes. There are<br />

over 27 000 students enrolled, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g postgraduate and doctoral studies and around<br />

1200 academic staff, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g 340 full professors. The range of the academic programmes<br />

is systematically enlarged and currently <strong>in</strong>cludes 28 majors with<strong>in</strong> which there are 130 areas<br />

of specialisations. Academic programmes are offered at the Bachelor’s, Master’s and<br />

Doctoral levels; there is also one MBA programme offered.<br />
