M.E.S.C. – Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion provides advanced education<br />

<strong>in</strong> materials science and electrochemistry. The course consists of 3 semesters of classes<br />

plus a fourth semester devoted to research done <strong>in</strong> one of 16 European laboratories.<br />

The M.E.S.C consortium <strong>in</strong>cludes:<br />

Université de Picardie – Amiens (France)<br />

Université de Provence – Marseille (France)<br />

Universidad de Córdoba (Spa<strong>in</strong>)<br />

Warsaw University of Technology (<strong>Poland</strong>).<br />

Tuition fees for European students are 1000 EUR per year. Students of the university<br />

which is a member of the consortium, pay regular fees <strong>in</strong> their home university.<br />

• For non-EU candidates apply<strong>in</strong>g for EU scholarships – 31st January<br />

• For non-EU candidates not apply<strong>in</strong>g for EU scholarships – 15th May<br />

• For EU candidates (not eligible for EU scholarships) – 30th June<br />

Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their academic performance, evidenced by<br />

academic records and letters of evaluation from professional referees. Beside the usual<br />

evaluation of the records, applicants must present their goals for the Erasmus Mundus<br />

master programme. All courses are taught <strong>in</strong> English, therefore students whose native<br />

language is not English must take the TOEFL/TOEIC exam<strong>in</strong>ation prior to apply<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

M<strong>in</strong>imum level of 550 po<strong>in</strong>ts is required.<br />

European students jo<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g M.E.S.C. can receive grants to f<strong>in</strong>ance the additional mobility costs:<br />

Erasmus Mundus grant: 500 EUR monthly allowance, dur<strong>in</strong>g 24 months + 2000 EUR<br />

for the costs of participation <strong>in</strong> the M.E.S.C. program.<br />

Alistore grant: 2000 EUR per semester dur<strong>in</strong>g 3 semesters.<br />

Erasmus grants: 229 EUR per month dur<strong>in</strong>g 3 semesters (2 semesters of courses and 1<br />

semester for <strong>in</strong>ternship).<br />

Local grants (consult your home university).<br />

The total amount of grants or aids for European students ranges from 6000 EUR to<br />

14000 EUR for 2 years.<br />
