Biomedical eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g is an <strong>in</strong>terdiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary study specialization, comb<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

biology, and medical sciences. The programme covers such areas as human<br />

anatomy and physiology, biochemistry and biophysics, structure and applications of<br />

biomaterials, design of artificial organs, sensors and measurements of biomedical signals,<br />

medical <strong>in</strong>formation systems, and medical electronics, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g construction<br />

and operation of medical imag<strong>in</strong>g systems <strong>in</strong> cl<strong>in</strong>ical environment. Graduates will<br />

possess fundamental knowledge of biomedical eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g such areas as<br />

medical <strong>in</strong>formatics, medical electronics, biomechanical and biomaterial eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

Graduates will be able to operate modern diagnostic and therapeutic systems<br />

based on electronics and <strong>in</strong>formation techniques, methods and technologies.<br />

Candidates have to hold a legalized maturity certificate or another foreign document<br />

that entitles one to cont<strong>in</strong>ue education at the university level. Very good knowledge<br />

of English. Candidates hold<strong>in</strong>g Polish maturity certificates, for English language, have<br />

to obta<strong>in</strong> m<strong>in</strong>. 60% of the po<strong>in</strong>ts at the advanced level.<br />
