The Master <strong>in</strong> Environmental Protection <strong>in</strong> scope of Ecohydrology aims to create highly specialized<br />

professionals <strong>in</strong> the area of Ecohydrology (EH). Firstly, graduates understand the l<strong>in</strong>k<br />

between ecology and hydrology and know how to use it as a management tool for protection<br />

and management of the natural environment <strong>in</strong> context of modern methods and ecological<br />

biotechnologies, and with consideration of current environmental policy.<br />

Secondly, graduates possess knowledge and understand<strong>in</strong>g of the ecological processes<br />

that support the resilience of aquatic ecosystems and know how to harmonize them with<br />

exist<strong>in</strong>g eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>frastructures at the river bas<strong>in</strong> scale to achieve susta<strong>in</strong>able aquatic<br />

ecosystems use and to reverse the processes of human caused degradation. In addition,<br />

graduates understand the social and economic value of aquatic ecosystems and are able<br />

to develop the research and applications required to support and implement conservation<br />

and adaptation measures for the susta<strong>in</strong>able management of aquatic environments.<br />

Furthermore, graduates are qualified to use advanced tools <strong>in</strong> the plann<strong>in</strong>g, conception<br />

and design phases of ecohydrological projects. F<strong>in</strong>ally, graduates possess necessary communication<br />

and research skills for <strong>in</strong>tegrated team work and are able to develop decision<br />

support<strong>in</strong>g systems for community policy and to create an <strong>in</strong>terface between researchers,<br />

stakeholders and decision makers. The programme content is also conducted <strong>in</strong> frame of<br />

the Erasmus Mundus Master of Ecohydrology (<strong>in</strong>fo and admission on www.ecohyd.org).<br />

The charge of 3000 EUR/year applies for students from outside the EU/EFTA, exclusive<br />

of an additional 200 EUR charge that covers registration fee (for students of Polish<br />

orig<strong>in</strong> the tuition is reduced by 30%).<br />

An applicant who has successfully accomplished a first degree of higher education<br />

equivalent to a B.Sc. degree <strong>in</strong> one of the follow<strong>in</strong>g subjects: biology, ecology, geosciences,<br />

environmental protection, limnology, hydrology, aquatic eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g or any<br />

similar subject. Admission procedure requires the legalized Bachelor’s Degree<br />

Diploma (or other document confirm<strong>in</strong>g bachelor’s degree studies graduation) with the<br />

transcript of records and the English Language Certificate.<br />
