The programme of Classics provides a broad humanistic education with a strong<br />

background <strong>in</strong> philology, history and archaeology. It enables the graduates to meet<br />

the demands of further studies <strong>in</strong> a host of discipl<strong>in</strong>es through the acquisition of a<br />

solid knowledge base <strong>in</strong> l<strong>in</strong>guistics, ancient history, ancient philosophy and classical<br />

archaeology. The curriculum also fosters the students’ skills <strong>in</strong> translation and gives<br />

them opportunities to do research, teach <strong>in</strong> schools and universities, or work <strong>in</strong><br />

archives, libraries and museums.<br />

The requirement for admission to the Master of Classics programme is a Bachelor’s<br />

degree (or the equivalent of undergraduate academic degree). Admissions of students<br />

are made on the basis of marks obta<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> the Exam<strong>in</strong>ation papers. Please<br />

note that the basic knowledge of Lat<strong>in</strong> or Greek is required to attend the sem<strong>in</strong>ars!<br />

The candidate needs also meet English language requirements.<br />
