The programme of Classics provides a broad humanistic education with a strong
background in philology, history and archaeology. It enables the graduates to meet
the demands of further studies in a host of disciplines through the acquisition of a
solid knowledge base in linguistics, ancient history, ancient philosophy and classical
archaeology. The curriculum also fosters the students’ skills in translation and gives
them opportunities to do research, teach in schools and universities, or work in
archives, libraries and museums.

The requirement for admission to the Master of Classics programme is a Bachelor’s
degree (or the equivalent of undergraduate academic degree). Admissions of students
are made on the basis of marks obtained in the Examination papers. Please
note that the basic knowledge of Latin or Greek is required to attend the seminars!
The candidate needs also meet English language requirements.
