The University of Silesia is one of the most prestigious universities in the southern
part of the country and one of the biggest public universities in Poland. It collaborates
with over 300 higher education institutions from all over the world through student
and academic staff exchanges and joint educational and research projects. It is a member
of numerous international associations and actively participates in European
Commission initiatives.
The educational offer of the university covers Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral
programmes taught both in Polish and English. 12 faculties and several independent,
interdisciplinary units provide 45 programmes and nearly 130 specializations.
Foreigners who are interested in taking up studies in Polish can join a Polish Language
Course for Foreigners Planning to Study in Poland (www.sjikp.us.edu.pl).
The infrastructure of the university provides excellent conditions for study and
leisure. With 10 student hostels, the University of Silesia can provide accommodation
for all international students.
