The jo<strong>in</strong>t double degree programme run together with Ryerson University <strong>in</strong> Toronto,<br />

Canada and Brandenburg University of Technology <strong>in</strong> Cottbus, Germany is aimed to<br />

foster student exchange with<strong>in</strong> the context of bilateral curricular development. The<br />

goal of the program is to improve the quality of graduate-level education and tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>in</strong> the field of control eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g. It is focused on new and challeng<strong>in</strong>g issues of<br />

power system automation and control. The <strong>Programme</strong> offered by the Faculty of<br />

Electrical Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g is split up <strong>in</strong>to three theory semesters and f<strong>in</strong>ally a Master<br />

Thesis semester. The 4-week <strong>in</strong>dustrial placement is a part of the studies as well. The<br />

best students will<strong>in</strong>g to study <strong>in</strong> Toronto should spend their first year at RU and<br />

second year at WUT. Alternatively, the students can study their first year at BUT <strong>in</strong><br />

Cottbus and then cont<strong>in</strong>ue their second year at WUT.<br />

A student who obta<strong>in</strong>ed good results <strong>in</strong> the first year can get a scholarship for<br />

deserv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the follow<strong>in</strong>g year.<br />
