Recommendati<strong>on</strong> 12-19: Co-ordinate a comprehensive, proactive electricity educati<strong>on</strong><br />

strategy across sector participants that at a minimum covers:<br />

� Ontario’s electricity resources including nuclear, hydroelectric, <strong>the</strong>rmal and renewable<br />

generati<strong>on</strong>;<br />

� The role and value <strong>of</strong> electricity import and export markets;<br />

� Roles and resp<strong>on</strong>sibilities <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> various entities operating in <strong>the</strong> electricity sector;<br />

� The evolving role <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> electricity ratepayer in <strong>the</strong> smart grid paradigm; and<br />

� Electricity prices — what drives <strong>the</strong>m, how <strong>the</strong>y are communicated and how <strong>the</strong>y are best<br />

resp<strong>on</strong>ded to.<br />

Recommendati<strong>on</strong> 12-20: Strategically promote Ontario’s strengths in <strong>the</strong> energy sector,<br />

capitalizing <strong>on</strong> export opportunities for domestic goods and services.<br />
