circulating in the blood can be directed to build a molecular knife that stabs the cellular<br />

membranes of foreign invaders. The antibodies secreted by white blood cells survey the<br />

entire circulatory system, looking for harmful bacteria <strong>and</strong> viruses to surround <strong>and</strong> destroy.<br />

Antibodies also trigger other factors in the immune system to seek <strong>and</strong> destroy unwanted<br />

intruders.<br />
