La carretera N-634 presenta un trazado sensiblemente paralelo a <strong>la</strong> autopista A-8, siendo complementaria <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong><br />
misma y usándose como distribuidora <strong>de</strong> los viajes <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> vía principal. Los mayores valores <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> carretera tienen<br />
lugar en el área <strong>de</strong>l Bilbao Metropolitano, don<strong>de</strong> se superan los 45.000 vehículos día. Fuera <strong>de</strong>l área <strong>de</strong> influencia<br />
bilbaína, <strong>la</strong> carretera cuenta con puntas <strong>de</strong> tráfico en <strong>la</strong>s inmediaciones <strong>de</strong> Eibar, en el límite entre los Territorios<br />
Históricos <strong>de</strong> Bizkaia y Gipuzkoa, don<strong>de</strong> prácticamente se alcanzan los 20.000 vehículos, así como en <strong>la</strong>s<br />
inmediaciones <strong>de</strong> Donostia – San Sebastián, don<strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> IMD se acerca a los 25.000 vehículos.<br />

<strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> misma alre<strong>de</strong>dor <strong>de</strong>l 10%. Destacan los porcentajes cercanos al 15% que se observan en el área <strong>de</strong>l Bilbao<br />
Metropolitano y en <strong>la</strong>s inmediaciones <strong>de</strong> Eibar, reflejando un comportamiento semejante al <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> IMD.<br />
