Es fundamental fomentar la cooperación entre las ONG internacionalesen materia de envejecimiento y organizaciones de la sociedad civile instituciones relacionadas con el tema en nuestro paísLas Organizaciones No Gubernamentales más importantes en materia de terceraedad y envejecimiento siguen proviniendo de países industrializados. Altener en cuenta que el intercambio de información suele ser uno de los pilaresde su fortaleza, organizaciones como Help Age y AARP pueden servir parafortalecer las Organizaciones No Gubernamentales sobre envejecimiento deMéxico. Estas organizaciones tienen especial interés en países en desarrolloy de aquellos que pasan situaciones críticas, como África, para el intercambiode experiencias e información. Sería importante fomentar la creación deOrganizaciones No Gubernamentales en México que se vieran beneficiadasde este tipo de intercambio de información con el fin de que exista la posibilidadde ser parte de las opiniones sobre el tema del envejecimiento en lospaíses en desarrollo. El hecho de que Naciones Unidas no reconozca estatus consultivoa las Organizaciones No Gubernamentales de países en desarrollo,afecta en gran medida a la visión dinámica que tiene la sociedad civil de estasregiones sobre el tema y al poco acceso que tienen las personas de edad a quese respeten sus derechos.
