Portals and Collaborative Groupware
Increased requirements of service provision and altered structures of, for
instance, research projects demand suitable IT-systems to support information
and collaboration processes. As a solution, portals and groupware systems
are provided centrally based on clients or functions. They are realized
in the following projects:
– The GÖ* service portal enables a central and transparent access to
scientific IT services by integrating the services of different service
providers. This includes an account for provided services and
approaches to CRM-solutions (provision of personalized extra or
context services).
– The portal for competence and research networks integrates tools for
document and project management, groupware, communication and
information and external applications. It provides a function-based
workplace environment. It is already used for different competence
networks and the MediGrid project. The overall concept also plans to
integrate applications and services for doctors and patients.
– The GÖ* work portal is a collaboration and information portal that
enables communication between different organizations. It is used
for IT-strategic planning and the realization of shared projects within
the GÖ* environment.
– Clients use exchange clusters as a unitary groupware solution and
integral part of portal solutions. All information is synced. This
enables a broad scheduling of dates including room and availability
checks. The integration of shared tools for project management will
be carried out in the future.
In 2006 user portals for identity management (unified authentication)
will be introduced and solutions for system management will be integrated
(administration of the individual IT workplaces, software distribution etc.).
