10. Acknowledgements
KIM is a project which has been initiated by the university‟s computing
center and is promoted and supported by the president‟s office. It is financed
partly by a target agreement between the Baden-Württemberg State
Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Universität Karlsruhe.
The main burden is carried by the university itself. On the one hand there
are the central institutions and the five research groups being directly involved
in the project work. These are research groups from the faculties of
economics and computer science. Their expertise area is the mapping of
business processes on service-oriented software architectures. Moreover in
the course of the project the other faculties, user committees and lobbies as
staff and students council will be included in the project. Presently four of
eleven faculties are participating directly and actively in the project, this
number will be successively increased in the further course of the project.
