Study assistance system
A study assistance system is an instrument of electronic study information,
attendance and control which can also be used for further education. If
extended and distinguished correspondingly (e. g. by creating interfaces to
the HIS products) it is also an instrument of faculty and university management.
7.3. KIM – IDM
The subproject KIM-IDM comprises design and set up of a universitywide
identity management (IDM). With special consideration of the university
structure a platform is created with existing tools and necessary extensions
which enables the institutions of the university to offer their customers
standardized services also beyond institutional borders. In the first
phase the services of accessibility and login beyond institutional borders
(single-sign-on) are to be realized.
In doing so KIM-IDM has given itself, compliant to the philosophy defined
for the whole KIM project, the first principles

– User control and governance as far as possible
– protection of the data privacy during design
– Conception, realization and formation of guidelines accompany.
