After this protest against fatalism, Calvin proceeds to<br />

acknowledge a true will in man ; that he acts willingly<br />

and without c<strong>on</strong>straint; and that c<strong>on</strong>sequently <strong>the</strong> blame<br />

<strong>of</strong> his sins rests entirely up<strong>on</strong> himself; and that to charge<br />

(xod with <strong>the</strong> authorship <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m is impiety and blasphemy.<br />

The ground he takes is strictly Aiigustinian : Voluntas,<br />
