This is the <strong>Islam</strong>ic Prayer, and that is what it can do for<br />

man. The best testimony to this statement is to experience<br />

the Prayer and avail oneself of its spiritual joys. Then one<br />

will know what it realiy means.<br />

Conditions of Prayer<br />

The offer<strong>in</strong>g of Prayer i s obligatory upon every Muslim,<br />

male or female, who is:<br />

Sane and responsible;<br />

2. Relatively mature and <strong>in</strong> the age of puberty, normally<br />

about fourteen. (Children should be advised by parents to<br />

start practice at the age of seven and strongly urged by the<br />

age of ten);<br />

3. In the case of women, free from menstruation and<br />

conf<strong>in</strong>ement due to child birth and nurs<strong>in</strong>g, The maximum<br />

period of both is ten and forty days, respectively. In these<br />

circumstances women are exempt from Prayers completely.<br />

Prayer is not valid unless the follow<strong>in</strong>g requirements are<br />

fulfilled:<br />

1. Perform<strong>in</strong>g the ablution (Wudu'), which will be ex-<br />

pla<strong>in</strong>ed later;
