When the Call is made for the Early Morn<strong>in</strong>g Prayer, the<br />

caller adds one sentence right after part (5) above. The sen-<br />

tence added isthis:<br />

As-salaiu khayrun M<strong>in</strong>an-nawm.<br />

(Prayer is hetter than sleep), (repeated twice).<br />

Then the caller cont<strong>in</strong>ues with parts (6) and (7). This ex-<br />

ception is made <strong>in</strong> the Morn<strong>in</strong>g only because it is the time<br />

when people are asleep and <strong>in</strong> need for a rem<strong>in</strong>der of Prayer.<br />

The Call to Commence the Prayer (<br />

Iqamah<br />

When this Call is uttered, the worshipers get ready for<br />

Prayer and <strong>in</strong>augurate it with an announcement called<br />

lqamah\ The sentences here are the same as those of the Ad-<br />

han above with two differences:<br />

(a) The Iqamah is said <strong>in</strong> a faster and less audible voice<br />

and, (b) Right after part (5) this sentence should be said<br />

twice:<br />

'Qad Qamati-s-salah'<br />

(Prayer is ready).<br />

Then parts (6) and (7) should follow to the end as usual.<br />
