MARCOR OSH PROGRAM MANUAL 110052. These programs shall be based on the industrial hygienerecommendations. The installation <strong>safety</strong> manager or unit <strong>safety</strong>officer shall ensure that affected Marine Corps personnel areentered in the medical surveillance program.11003. CIVILIAN EMPLOYEE MEDICAL RECORDS1. The cognizant MTF or contracted health service shallmaintain records consisting of forms, correspondence <strong>and</strong> otherfiles that relate to an employee's medical history, <strong>occupational</strong>injuries or illnesses, physical examinations, <strong>and</strong> all othertreatment received in a health unit.2. Upon separation, the medical records of civilian employeeswho have worked at installations under hazardous environmentalor <strong>occupational</strong> working conditions are transferred to theNational Personnel Records Center (NPRC), St. Louis, MO 30 daysafter separation. Records will be retained in accordance withGeneral Records Schedule 1, Item 21, Transmittal No. 12, July2004. The medical records of these employees, as described inGeneral Records Schedule 1, Item 19, Transmittal No. 12, July2004, are destroyed 6 years after the date of the last entry.The medical records of those employees who, in the opinion ofresponsible medical authority, have worked at installationswhere no known environmental or <strong>occupational</strong> health hazardsexist, are destroyed 6 years after the date of the last entry.3. Installations shall ensure that all medical records ofemployees who transfer to other positions within the DoD <strong>and</strong>other Federal agencies are provided to the gaining activitywithin 60 days from the day of transfer.11004. MILITARY MEDICAL RECORDS. Maintenance, retention <strong>and</strong>disposition of military personnel medical records shall be inaccordance with BUMED <strong>and</strong> SECNAV <strong>dir</strong>ectives.11005. ACCESS TO RECORDS. Access to <strong>occupational</strong> healthmedical records shall be provided to civilian employees <strong>and</strong>their representatives upon reasonable request in accordance with11-7
