7002 MARCOR OSH PROGRAM MANUAL2. Installation Safety Office (ISO). The base, depot, trainingcenter, station or ISO that provides the core <strong>safety</strong> services asdefined by MCO 5100.29A.3. Installation Safety Manager (ISM). The ISM is responsibleto ensure core <strong>safety</strong> services are provided. The ISO staff ismanaged by the ISM to best accomplish the ISO mission.4. Unit Safety. The <strong>safety</strong> personnel at MARFOR, MEF, Division,Wing, Group, Squadron, or Battalion who are assignedresponsibility for the unit <strong>safety</strong> program <strong>and</strong> who report<strong>dir</strong>ectly to the unit comm<strong>and</strong>er. These <strong>safety</strong> personnel willalso follow the appropriate <strong>safety</strong> chain of comm<strong>and</strong>, forexample, the battalion unit <strong>safety</strong> officer reports to regiment<strong>safety</strong> that reports to division <strong>safety</strong> that reports to MEF<strong>safety</strong> that reports to MARFOR <strong>safety</strong> that reports to CMC (SD).Units having a <strong>safety</strong> officer shall, at the appropriate level,also coordinate their <strong>safety</strong> efforts with the ISO.5. Work Center Supervisor. The supervisor at the work center,training facilities, <strong>and</strong>/or ranges is <strong>dir</strong>ectly responsible forthe implementation of the <strong>safety</strong> program within the work center.6. Work Center Safety Representative. The person within thework center, training facilities, <strong>and</strong>/or ranges who performs the<strong>safety</strong> responsibilities for the workplace, e.g., RSO, Line Sgt,etc. The work center supervisor usually appoints this person.Upon assignment or change of this person, notification is madeto the <strong>safety</strong> chain of comm<strong>and</strong>.7003. INSPECTION FREQUENCY1. ISO Inspectionsa. All work centers, training facilities, ranges on theinstallation, including those of tenant comm<strong>and</strong>s shall beinspected at least annually by installation <strong>safety</strong> personnel.Where a tenant comm<strong>and</strong> has a full-time <strong>safety</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>occupational</strong>health manager, the ISM may accept the tenant's <strong>safety</strong>inspections as meeting this requirement under procedurespreviously established in an agreement.
