MARCOR OSH PROGRAM MANUAL 1300815. Fit Testinga. All users of negative-pressure respirators shall be fittested in a test atmosphere to ensure proper respirator fit.b. All users of negative-pressure, air purifyingrespirators shall be trained in using positive <strong>and</strong> negative userseal checks prior to donning these respirators.c. All users of negative pressure respirators shall be fittested annually.d. Individuals with interfering facial hair will not beallowed to use respiratory protection equipment except forpositive-pressure supplied air hoods where appropriate.Personnel with facial hair that interferes with the sealingsurface of the respirator shall not be fit tested.e. Fit testing shall be performed per requirements of 20CFR 1910.134 <strong>and</strong> this Manual.16. Traininga. Personnel entered into the respiratory protectionprogram shall be trained according to 29 CFR 1910.134 whichincludes the nature <strong>and</strong> degree of respiratory hazards,respirator selection, donning <strong>and</strong> fit testing procedures, careof respirators (storage, cleaning, maintenance), respiratorcartridge change out schedules, wear of contact lenses, <strong>and</strong> use<strong>and</strong> limitations of respirators (including signs <strong>and</strong> indicationsof respirator failure).b. Personnel training records shall include entries forrespirator training <strong>and</strong> fit testing.13-17
