MARCOR OSH PROGRAM MANUAL 12007g. Enter all pertinent data into the lockout/tagout log.12006. TEMPORARY REMOVAL OF LOCKOUT DEVICES. In situations inwhich lockout devices must be temporarily removed from theenergy-isolating device, the following sequence of action shallbe followed:1. Clear the machine of tools <strong>and</strong> materials.2. Ensure all affected workers have been safely positioned orremoved from the area.3. Lockout/tagout devices can then be removed by the authorizedworker who applied the device, except as otherwise authorized byparagraph 12011.4. Energize <strong>and</strong> proceed with testing, positioning, etc., asrequired.5. De-energize all systems <strong>and</strong> establish lockout/tagoutmeasures in accordance with this Manual before continuing workon machine or equipment.12007. RESTORING MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT TO NORMAL OPERATION1. When service or maintenance is completed <strong>and</strong> machine orequipment is ready for normal production operations, check thearea around machines or equipment to ensure personnel are safe.2. After tools are removed from machine or equipment, guardsreinstalled, personnel safely repositioned or removed, <strong>and</strong>operating controls verified to be in safe or off position,remove all lockout/tagout devices <strong>and</strong> notify affected workers<strong>and</strong> responsible supervisor of their removal. Operate energyisolating devices to restore energy to machine or equipment.3. Complete applicable portions of lockout/tagout log.4. Ensure a signaling system is in place <strong>and</strong> effective forwarning workers exposed to the unexpected release of energyduring maintenance <strong>and</strong> servicing operations.12-11
