18002 MARCOR OSH PROGRAM MANUALa. Comply with the requirements <strong>and</strong> responsibilities ofthis Manual <strong>and</strong> 29 CFR 1910 <strong>and</strong> 29 CFR 1926.b. Ensure installation <strong>safety</strong> managers, officers, <strong>and</strong>supervisors assess work site hazards, review pertinentregulations, <strong>and</strong> update organization SOPs regarding fallprotection requirements.c. Ensure personnel who are potentially exposed to fallhazards receive appropriate training <strong>and</strong> fall protectionequipment.2. Installation <strong>safety</strong> managers shall:a. Provide fall protection training material <strong>and</strong>instruction for supervisors <strong>and</strong> personnel as required.b. Provide recommendations for appropriate fall protection.c. Stop any work operations that are not in compliance withthis Manual.d. Review all written fall protection SOPs before they arepublished.3. Director, Public Works or Facilities Department shall ensurepersonnel who are exposed to fall hazards of 6 feet or greaterreceive fall protection training <strong>and</strong> personal protectiveequipment. Evaluate structures <strong>and</strong> materials for suitableanchor points when fall protection systems are required tosafeguard Marine Corps personnel. These evaluations <strong>and</strong> theresulting recommendations shall be coordinated with the ISM.4. Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (ROICC) shall:a. Ensure contractors performing work aboard Marine Corpsinstallations or units are aware of the provisions of thisManual <strong>and</strong> 29 CFR 1910, 29 CFR 1926, <strong>and</strong> EM-385-1-1, Corps ofEngineers Safety Manual, when applicable, <strong>and</strong> require inclusionof a written fall protection program within their <strong>safety</strong> <strong>and</strong>health plan.18-4
