12008 MARCOR OSH PROGRAM MANUAL12008. MORE THAN ONE WORKER INVOLVED. In the preceding steps,if more than one worker is required to service a piece ofequipment, each shall place their own assigned lockout/tagoutdevice on energy isolating device(s). If necessary, an energyisolating device hasp may be used. As each worker finishestheir portion of work, that worker will remove their lock fromthe gang hasp. Only the last worker to remove their lock or tagmay reenergize machine or equipment. Each person applying alock or tag shall make an entry into lockout/tagout log whenapplying the device, <strong>and</strong> clear their device from the log whentheir portion of work is completed.12009. REMOVAL OF LOCKOUT/TAGOUT DEVICES BY OTHER THANAUTHORIZED WORKER. Lockout/tagout devices may be removed by thelockout/tagout coordinator if the authorized worker who appliedit is not available, <strong>and</strong>:1. All reasonable efforts were made to contact the authorizedworker about the need to remove lockout/tagout device.2. The authorized worker will be informed that the lockout ortagout device has been removed before resuming work at thefacility.3. An appropriate entry shall be made in lockout/tagout log toindicate name of person who notifies authorized worker, <strong>and</strong> thetime <strong>and</strong> date lock or tag was removed.12010. LOCKOUT/TAGOUT REQUIREMENTS FOR CONTRACTORS AND OTHERDoD PERSONNEL1. Contractors performing service or maintenance on MarineCorps equipment shall comply with 29 CFR 1910.147. The residentofficer in charge of construction (ROICC) or other responsiblecontracting agent shall ensure all outside contractors areinformed of elements of this program <strong>and</strong> obtain informationregarding the contractor's Lockout/Tagout Program. The contractshall require the contractor to inform supervisory personnel inthe affected work site of the contractor's Lockout/TagoutProgram.12-12
