2000 MARCOR OSH PROGRAM MANUAL<strong>dir</strong>ectives; <strong>and</strong> administering, coordinating, <strong>and</strong> managing theMarine Corps OSH Program. Specifically, the Director SD shall:a. Coordinate <strong>and</strong> provide requirements, <strong>dir</strong>ection <strong>and</strong>guidance for the Marine Corps OSH Program in concert with theMarine Corps Executive Safety Board (ESB), deputy comm<strong>and</strong>ants,comm<strong>and</strong>ing generals, <strong>and</strong> other DoD, Government, <strong>and</strong> non-Government agencies.b. Serve as the single point of contact with externalagencies for the Marine Corps OSH Program. Ensure the MarineCorps is represented on all DoD <strong>and</strong> DON OSH policy formulationgroups.c. Maintain close liaison <strong>and</strong> coordination with theComm<strong>and</strong>er, Naval Safety Center (COMNAVSAFECEN) for support ofthe Marine Corps OSH Program.d. Provide guidance to comm<strong>and</strong>s for developing local <strong>safety</strong>policy upon request.3. MCO 5100.29A establishes <strong>safety</strong> responsibilities forHeadquarters Marine Corps, installations, <strong>and</strong> specifiedcomm<strong>and</strong>s.2001. MARINE CORPS SYSTEMS COMMAND (MARCORSYSCOM)1. MARCORSYSCOM shall ensure that Environment, Safety, <strong>and</strong>Occupational Health (ESOH) considerations are incorporated inthe acquisition of Marine Corps ground military–uniqueequipment, to include OSHA st<strong>and</strong>ards where possible. MIL-STD882D, Department of Defense St<strong>and</strong>ard Practice for System Safety,shall be used to manage <strong>and</strong> accent ESOH risks in all acquisitionprograms. Prior to fielding military equipment to the operatingforces, all residual hazards shall be accepted <strong>and</strong> any <strong>safety</strong>restrictions communicated to the operating forces.2. MARCORSYSCOM shall execute the Marine Corps Explosive SafetyProgram.2-6
