8003 MARCOR OSH PROGRAM MANUALa. <strong>US</strong>MC official or contractor official shall immediatelynotify the OSHA official <strong>and</strong> DoD activity exercising securitysupervision over the workplace of need for a personnel securityclearance to enter the closed area.b. In case of Federal OSHA officials, the <strong>US</strong>MC <strong>and</strong> DoDsecurity activity, after verifying need for a personnel securityclearance, shall contact the appropriate cognizant securityoffice <strong>and</strong> require verification of the Federal OSHA official'ssecurity clearance. If the OSHA official's name is not on theaccess list, the responsible security officer shall contact theOSHA regional or area office <strong>and</strong> request an appropriatelycleared OSHA official.c. In case of state OSHA officials, the <strong>US</strong>MC <strong>and</strong> DoDsecurity activity, after verifying the need for a personnelsecurity clearance, shall coordinate with the state OSHAofficial <strong>and</strong> request that the responsible office contact thenearest OSHA regional or area office for a cleared Federal OSHAofficial.7. Federal <strong>and</strong> state OSHA officials shall be accompanied ontheir inspections <strong>and</strong> investigations by ISO <strong>and</strong> ACOrepresentatives (as appropriate). DoD contractor’srepresentatives may also accompany them when requisite securityclearances are verified.8. Federal or state OSHA officials shall not be permitted totake photographs on any Marine Corps installation. Photosrequested by these officials shall be taken only by authorizedpersonnel <strong>and</strong> shall not be delivered to the requesting officialuntil all film, negatives <strong>and</strong> photos, have been fully screened<strong>and</strong> classified by higher authority. Requests for documenteddata, sketches of military installations <strong>and</strong> equipment, reportsor design information such as noise levels, profiles, etc.,shall be forwarded to the appropriate screening official forsimilar action. This process shall normally be completed by thescreening official within a period of 15 working days fromreceipt of the material.9. The <strong>US</strong>MC <strong>and</strong> DoD contractor is responsible for resolvingissues related to citations or requests for delays, variances,tolerances or exemptions of applicable OSHA st<strong>and</strong>ards.8-6
