IMPLEMENTATION1. Marine Corps commands may elect to implement the OSHstandards by any combination of the following:a. Issuance of instructions that adopt these standards byreference.b. Publication of component or subordinate commanddirectives, manuals, etc., which include these organization andadministrative practices. Such publications may paraphrase,transpose, or otherwise adapt these standards. They may alsocontain criteria more stringent than those included in an OSHAstandard, but shall not decrease or substantially alter thestandard except as provided in paragraphs 6004 and 6005 below.2. Commanders shall:a. Ensure all affected personnel understand and comply withcriteria contained in OSH standards and are enforced bysupervision. In cases of noncompliance, management shallconsider disciplinary action against the offender and supervisorunder Office of Personnel Management Civilian PersonnelInstruction (752), Department of Navy Adverse Actions, orUniform Code of Military Justice.b. Ensure all standards are applied in the acquisitionprocess for equipment and material included in goods andservices, and during the design and construction of new orupgraded facilities.6-5
