It is proven the existance in Chisinau of a <strong>la</strong>rge variety of clothing stores<br />

that imported clothing and footwear from European cities such as the shoe<br />

stores „Vivodţov”, „M.M.Zelyţman”, the clothing stores „N.I.Şciuki”,<br />

„K.M.Iacovenco”, „I.A.Lapuhin”; the fashionable salons „A.E.Şestopolov”,<br />

„K<strong>la</strong>ra Şkolinik Niko<strong>la</strong>eva”, „Excellence”, the fur shops „B.M.Şpetner”,<br />

„I.A.Bloterkovki”, etc. The advertisements selected from periodicals of the<br />

time, confirm business house „F. Berkovici”, who make leather goods, the<br />

trade house „Ostrovskii”, specialized in the manufacture and sale of hosiery,<br />

and jewelry of salons or manufacture of furniture and mirrors.<br />

Supplemented by a variety of accessories, as: hats, gloves, socks, underwear,<br />

fans, umbrel<strong>la</strong>s, etc. Giving special significance and charm, vintage<br />

clothing is very diverse and in terms of propensity chromatic supplemented<br />

by a variety of products for cosmetics and perfumery, which re<strong>la</strong>ted to the<br />

clothing, underlined the sense of beauty and sophistication.<br />

CHAPTER IV.<br />

THE FOOD<br />

The nutrition have always p<strong>la</strong>yed an important role in human life, both as<br />

individuals and as social being. With the qualities and its defects decisively<br />

influenced the health of the popu<strong>la</strong>tion, it is clear that daily life in any historical<br />

period, is inconceivable without food on which deppends the human<br />

existence.<br />

The preferences for good nutrition, product quality and sophistication are<br />

the defining features of the inhabitants of Moldova since the beginning of<br />

<strong>la</strong>st century and dominated until now. As proof, there is a culinary variety, the<br />

quantity of food consumed, and the quality of local cuisine.<br />

The popu<strong>la</strong>tion’s feed of Chisinau is based on income, traditions, environment<br />

and specific seasonal housing, but also on the mentality of the era. The<br />

food has a special p<strong>la</strong>ce in the life of the inhabitants of Chisinau, it represents<br />

a physiological need and an opportunity to meet a small circle of friends.<br />

The diet of Kishinev was a traditional, which included three meals per<br />

day, lunch was basic, at the breakfast and dinner were served light snacks.<br />

It depended on the financial situation, but also the moral principles of each<br />

family in part. Meals were served at home or in public p<strong>la</strong>ces of the capital.<br />

These diversify from luxury restaurants visited by the city elite, from the<br />

simple cafes and pubs; here were served regu<strong>la</strong>r dinners, dishes prepared with<br />

certain occasions or were discussed everyday life problems. Both types of
