Harvey R. Sterling<br />
Harvey R. STERLING, 76, retired Akron farmer and salesman, died at 6:30 p.m.<br />
Saturday of heart trouble in Woodlawn hospital here where he had been a patient the last two<br />
weeks. He had been in ill health two years.<br />
Mr. Sterling moved to Akron 19 years ago from Peru. He was born July 4, 1882, in Cass<br />
county, the son of Thane and Nancy MONTGOMERY STERLING.<br />
He was married in Akron May 8, 1946, to Mary HARSH, who survives. Several nieces<br />
and nephews also survive.<br />
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Harold CONRAD at<br />
the Sheetz funeral home, Akron, and burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery, Peru. Friends may call<br />
at the funeral home.<br />
Clara Collins<br />
Mrs. Clara COLLINS, 65, wife of Clyde S. COLLINS, was found dead this morning in<br />
the barn of her farm home on R.R. 1, Kewanna.<br />
Dr. Howard ROWE, county coroner, returned a verdict of self-inflicted death by hanging<br />
and fixed time of death at about 7:30 a.m. Dr. Carson McGUIRE, deputy coroner, assisted in the<br />
investigation.<br />
<strong>The</strong> body was taken to the Harrison funeral home in Kewanna. Funeral arrangements are<br />
incomplete.<br />

Clara Collins<br />
Funeral services still were indefinite today for Mrs. Clara COLLINS, 64, pending word<br />
from a son, Joseph [COLLINS], stationed with the Marine Corps at Cherry Point, S.C. <strong>The</strong> body<br />
is at the Harrison funeral home in Kewanna.<br />
Mrs. Collins was found dead Monday morning in the barn of her farm home west of<br />
Rochester. Dr. Howard ROWE, county coroner, said that death was self-inflicted by hanging and<br />
fixed the time at about 7:30 a.m. Mrs. Collins had been in ill health for some time.<br />
A native of Tennessee, she was born Jan. 25, 1894, the daughter of <strong>The</strong>odore and<br />
Margaret OLSEN. She was married June 2, 1914, to Clyde S. COLLINS, who survives.<br />
Mrs. Collins was a member of the Methodist church, Eastern Star and Rebekah lodge.<br />
Surviving, besides the husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Irene HENDRICKSON,<br />
Kewanna, and Mrs. Ruth BIESEN, Highland; three sons, John [COLLINS], Orlando, Fla.; James<br />
[COLLINS], Baltimore, and Joseph [COLLINS], Cherry Point, N.C.; one brother, Ted OLSEN,<br />
Rochester; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie MYERS, Rochester, and Mrs. Sena SEVERNS, Peru; thirteen<br />
grandchildre and two great-grandchildren.
