Norabelle Robbins<br />

Mrs. Samuel E. (Norabelle) CURTIS ROBBINS, 58, 331 Indiana avenue, died of a heart<br />

attack while riding in a car on Ind. 14 1 1/2 miles east of Winamac at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. She had<br />

been ill two years.<br />

Born in <strong>Fulton</strong> county April 1, 1901, she had lived in Rochester and vicinity her entire<br />

life. She was the daughter of Mahlon and Minnie Belle CURTIS.<br />

On July 7, 1941, she was married in Rochester to Samuel E. ROBBINS, who survives.<br />

Also surviving are a daughter, Wanda Louise [ROBBINS], at home; a son, DeVon<br />

SHUMAN, Rochester; two granddaughters; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle HURD, Kewanna, and two<br />

brothers, Ralph CURTIS, Rochester, and George CURTIS, Downey, Cal. A daughter, Eileen<br />

SHUMAN, died in 1931.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home here with<br />

the Rev. George CRANE officiating. Burial will be in the local I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may<br />

call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.<br />

Ernest Kelch<br />

Final rites were held last week for Ernest KELCH, 41, Des Moines, Ia., brother of Mrs.<br />

Albertus Van DIEN, 704 Madison street, and Mrs. Donald POLK, 527 West Ninth street.<br />

Mr. Kelch, who lived in the Rochester vicinity for about eight months some 17 years ago,<br />

died suddenly in Methodist hospital at Des Moines on Sept. 11.<br />

Mary E. Weaver<br />

Funeral services for Miss Mary Elizabeth WEAVER, 84, formerly of Kewanna, will be<br />

Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the St. Ann’s church at Kewanna with the Rev. Father FITZGERALD<br />

officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s cemetery at Pulaski.<br />

Miss Weaver died at St. Anthony’s hospital in Terre Haute Sunday morning. She<br />

formerly was a housekeeper for the Rev. Father Edmund A. LEY in Kewanna.<br />

Survivors are two half-sisters, Mrs. Leona ALLEN, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Martha<br />

PETERSON, Boise, Ida.<br />

Born Nov. 15, 1874, in Pulaski, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi WEAVER.<br />

Friends may call at the Harrison funeral home in Kewanna, where the rosary will be<br />

recited at 8 p.m. today.<br />

Lee Mowe<br />

Word has been received here of the death of Lee MOWE, New Orleans, who resided in<br />

Rochester about 30 years ago. He was 72 years of age.<br />

His parents were David and Viola EDINGER MOWE of Rochester.<br />

Surviving are his wife, Lillian [MOWE]; one son, Lee [MOWE], Jr., and three<br />

grandchildren.<br />

He was a past patron of the Order of Eastern Star and also was affiliated with several<br />

Masonic organizations. He also was a member of the Baptist church in New Orleans.
