John A. Dawson<br />
John A. DAWSON, 78, R.R. 2, Akron, one of the 40-year members of the Farm Bureau<br />
who was honored at the organization’s state convention in Indianapolis Wednesday, died of a<br />
coronary occlusion on the bus while coming home.<br />
<strong>The</strong> sudden death came at 9 p.m. Wednesday when the bus was about five miles<br />
northwest of Indianapolis.<br />
Mr. Dawson had been a farmer all his adult life except for 10 years when he was a school<br />
teacher. He was a member of the Olive Bethel Church of God and a former member of the <strong>Fulton</strong><br />
<strong>County</strong> Credit Bureau in addition to the Farm Bureau.<br />
Born in <strong>Fulton</strong> county May 14, 1881, he was the son of Samuel and Martha STINSON<br />
DAWSON. He lived in South Dakota for 10 years, the rest of his life in this county.<br />
In 1917, he was married to Marie DRUDGE, who survives. Also surviving are a son,<br />
John [DAWSON], Jr., at home; four daughters, Mrs. Marshall (Nancy) ALLMAN, Lafayette; Mrs.<br />
Merryanne KIBBLER, Altadena, Cal. Mrs. Esta DOWNING, Valparaiso, and Ruthalys<br />
DAWSON, Psadena, Cal.; five grandchildren; three brothers, S.D. and J.P. DAWSON, bot of<br />
Logansport, and Frank [DAWSON], Akron; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth CARR, Argos, and Mrs.<br />
Gladys CHAMBERS, Corvalis, Ore.<br />
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Olive Bethel Church of God with the Rev. D.<br />
L. SLAYBAUGH officiating. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Friends may call at the Tom<br />
Haupert funeral home in Akron after 1 p.m. Friday and until noon Saturday, then at the church<br />
from 1-2 p.m. Saturday.<br />
<strong>The</strong> family has requested that friends omit flowers and contribute to the Olive Bethel<br />
Church of God building fund in Mr. Dawson’s memory.<br />
Omar F. Stanley<br />
Funeral services were conducted today for Omar F. STANLEY, 50, San Diego, Cal., a<br />
former Rochester resident who died suddenly of a cerebral hemorrhage. He had moved from<br />
Rochester 15 years ago and was a brother of Mrs. Max. O’BLENIS of Rochester.<br />
Mr. Stanley died at 3 a.m. Tuesday in San Diego.<br />
<strong>The</strong> son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel STANLEY, he is survived by his widow, Catherine<br />
[STANLEY]; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Freda) SMITH, Indianapolis; Three sons, John<br />
[STANLEY], Indianapolis; Norman [STANLEY], Wabash, and Donald [STANLEY], Peru; four<br />
grandchildren; two brothers, Carl [STANLEY], Walkerton, and Ernest [STANLEY], Columbia,<br />
S.C., and Mrs. O’BLENIS.<br />
