Eldon Perry<br />
Word has been received here of the death in Tucson, Ariz., of Eldon PERRY, 39, brother<br />
of Mrs. Loren MATTIX, 921 Park avenue, and nephew of Mrs. June HARTZLER, Rochester.<br />
Mr. Perry, owner of an air conditioning business in Tucson, died unexpectedly of a heart<br />
attack, Nov. 22. Services were conducted last Wednesday. He had lived in Warsaw efore moving<br />
to Arizona.<br />
Among the survivors are the widow and three children.<br />

Judd A. Curtis<br />
Judd A. CURTIS, 87, a native of Akron who moved to Fort Myers, Fla., 12 years ago,<br />
died at his home Wednesday evening after a six month illness.<br />
Born April 7, 1872, he was the son of James and Dora DAVIS CURTIS and was a retired<br />
farmer. Mrs. Curtis was a member of the Akron Methodist church and the K. of P. lodge.<br />
Surviving are the widow, the former Minnie RILEY; a daughter, Mrs. Helen BABER,<br />
Fort Myers; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Eva SCOTT, Akron; a fosterdaughter,<br />
Edna TOMLINSON, Great Falls, Mont.<br />
Services are pending at the Tom Haupert funeral home in Akron.<br />
John Speed<br />
John SPEED, 82, former Rochester resident, died Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Dukes hospital<br />
at Peru. He had been confined to the hospital since March with injuries suffered in an auto<br />
accident.<br />
Born in Crawfordsville on Aug. 24, 1877, he was the son of Robert and Jennie<br />
FARRELL SPEED. His wife, the former Lillie HILBURN, preceded him in death. A stonemason<br />
by trade, he was a member of the Crawfordsville Eagles lodge and the Trinity Episcopal church<br />
there.<br />
Requiem mass will be said at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Trinity Episcopal church at Peru.<br />
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 a.m. at the Brookman funeral home in Peru with the Rev.<br />
James PARKER officiating. Local friends may call at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home<br />
here from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, following which burial will be made in the Rochester I.O.O.F.<br />
cemetery.<br />
Daisy Powell<br />
Miss Daisy POWELL, 84, Macy, a lifetime resident of Miami county, died at 6:15 p.m.<br />
Wednesday in Logansport after an illness of two months.<br />
Born Dec. 31, 1874, she was the daughter of John H. and Laura A. SUTTON POWELL.<br />
She ws a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist church.<br />
Surviving are three brothers, Ben [POWELL], R.R. 1, Akron; Daniel [POWELL], Macy,<br />
and Wallace [POWELL], R.R. 1, Macy; and a sister, Miss Inez POWELL, Macy. Two brothers<br />
and a sister preceded her in death.<br />
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Pleasant Hill Methodist church with the Rev.<br />
Richard SUMNER officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Zion cemetery four miles northeast of<br />
Macy. Friends may call at the Daniel Powell residence in Macy after 1 p.m. Friday and until<br />
12:30 p.m. Saturday. <strong>The</strong> body will be at the church for one hour before services.
