practiced as a private nurse.<br />
On Aug. 25, 1925, she married Mr. Hyslop in Akron. She lived in Chicago and Tulsa<br />
before moving to Kenosha when her husband bought the Barden store.<br />
Surviving are the parents of Akron; a sister, Mrs. Robert E. OSBORN, Ithaca, N.Y.; a<br />
niece, Judy, and a nephew John. Final rites and burial were in Kenosha.<br />
Minnie M. Emmons<br />
Mrs. Minnie M. EMMONS, 79, a native of Talma, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday in the<br />
Murphy hospital at Warsaw after being admitted the day before.<br />
A resident of Warsaw for the last 39 years, Mrs. Emmons was born June 22, 1879 to John<br />
and Mary (KESSLER) KESLER. On March 10, 1898, she was married in Rochester to Robert V.<br />
EMMONS, who died on Sept. 29, 1954.<br />
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Wilma) MOORE, Pierceton, and Mrs. Paul<br />
(Erdean) VELSIEGEL, Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Devon [EMMONS], Warsaw; eight grandchildren<br />
and fifteen great-grandchildren.<br />
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. CST Friday at the McHatton funeral home in Warsaw, with<br />
the Rev. Louis ENGLE of Dutchtown, Ind., officiating. Burial will be in the Reichter cemetery at<br />
Talma. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.<br />

Charity A. Hower<br />
Mrs. Charity A. “Carrie” HOWER, 82, of <strong>Fulton</strong>, wife of Josiah HOWER, died at 10:15<br />
p.m. Wednesday at her home after an illness of two months. Mrs. Hower left 102 survivors.<br />
She was born Feb. 21, 1877, in Rochester township, the daughter of Austin and Susan<br />
BROKAW REID. On Feb. 17, 1895, she was married in Rochester by the Rev. O. E. COOK to<br />
Josiah Hower, who survives.<br />
With the exception of an 18-year period during which she lived in Wisconsin, Mrs.<br />
Hower spent the majority of her life in <strong>Fulton</strong>. She was a member of the <strong>Fulton</strong> Baptist church.<br />
Surviving besides the husband, at home, are five daughters, Mrs. Art (Laverna)<br />

CLAWSON, North Hollywood, Cal.; Mrs. Earl (Berniece) THOMPSON, Hiatsville, Md., and<br />
Mrs. Merrill (Bertha) WALTZ, <strong>Fulton</strong>; two sons, William [HOWER[, Nadeau, Mich., and Ira<br />
[HOWER], Los Angeles, Cal.; thirty-two grandchildren; sixty-one great-grandchildren; a sister,<br />
Mrs. J. L. COX, Lewiston, Mont., and a half-brother, Milo MEDARY, Buffalo, N.Y.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rev. Franklin ARTHUR and the Rev. William KEITH will conduct funeral services<br />
Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the <strong>Fulton</strong> Baptist church. Burial will be in the <strong>Fulton</strong> cemetery. Friends<br />
may call at the Ditmire funeral home, <strong>Fulton</strong>, after 7 p.m. today.<br />
Mrs. Boyd Personett<br />
Mrs. Hugh CLOUD, 500 West Fifth street, today received word of the death of her sisterin-law,<br />
Mrs. Boyd PERSONETT, 77, Berrien Springs, Mich. Mrs. Personett died of heart trouble<br />
in Memorial hospital, St. Joe, Mich., Wednesday morning. She had been ill the last few years and<br />
in serious condition for about thee weeks.<br />
Boyd PERSONETT is the brother of Mrs. Cloud and of the late Mrs. George WILSON,<br />
Rochester. He had lived in the Rochester vicinity before moving to Michigan.
