Judd A. Curtis<br />

Funeral services for Judd A. CURTIS, 87, a native of Akron who moved to Fort Myers,<br />

Fla., 12 years ago, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Tom Haupert funeral home at Akron.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Claude FAWNS and the Rev. Maurice KESSLER will officiate and burial will<br />

be in the Akron cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:30 p.m. Sunday.<br />

Mr. Curtis died in Fort Wayne Wednesday after a six-month illness.<br />

Alva C. Burkett<br />

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist church ot Mishawaka for<br />

Mrs. Alva C. BURKETT, 69, native of Rochester. She died Thursday night in St. Joseph’s<br />

hospital in South Bend after a three-year illness.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Roy HAMMAN will officiate at the rites and burial will be in Chapel Hill<br />

Memorial Gardens, Mishawaka. Friends may call a the Bubb funeral home in Mishawaka after 7<br />

p.m. today until 11:30 a.m. Monday, when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state.<br />

Mrs. Burkett resided at 215 South Helen street, Mishawaka. She was born in Rochester<br />

and moved to Mishawaka 14 years ago. Her maiden name was Carrie HAINES and she was<br />

married April 3, 1920, at Rochester, to Alva BURKETT, who survives.<br />

Also surviving are two brothers, Howard HAINES, Mishawaka, and Herman HAINES,<br />

Indianapolis, and one sister, Miss Alice HAINES, Mentone.<br />

Raymond D. Urbin<br />

Raymond Dean URBIN, 73, of near Kewanna, died at 11 p.m. Friday after a lingering<br />

illness. He was a lifetime resident of the Kewanna vicinity.<br />

Born Sept. 2, 1886, in Kewanna, he was the son of Peter H. and Loma F.<br />

BRANTHOFFER URBIN. On Dec. 14, 1910, he was married to Hannah Madge WISELEY.<br />

Mr. Urbin, a farmer, was a member of the Kewanna Methodist church.<br />

Surviving are the widow; two sons, Wilbur [URBIN], Logansport, and Gerald [URBIN],<br />

<strong>Fulton</strong>; a daughter, Mrs. Loma BAKER,Culver; a brother, <strong>The</strong>o. [URBIN], Kewanna, and six<br />

grandchildren. Two sons, Everett and Melvin [URBIN], preceded him in death.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Harrison chapel in Kewanna with the Rev.<br />

Charles W. COOK officiating. Burial will be in he Kewanna I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call<br />

at the chapel after 7 p.m. today.
