William Locke<br />

William LOCKE, 94, a retired farmer, died in his home in <strong>Fulton</strong> Sunday morning at 8:10<br />

o’clock. He had been in serious condition one week.<br />

Born July 25, 1865, in Howard county to Elias and Sarah (BROWN) LOCKE, he moved<br />

to the <strong>Fulton</strong> community 45 years ago from Kokomo.<br />

He was married March 22, 1913, to Daisy LICHTENWALTER, who died Feb. 28, 1956.<br />

Surviving are one step-son, Myrl LICHTENWALTER, Chicago; two granddaughters,<br />

Mrs. Ruth LUCAS, Palatine, Ill., and Miss Myrl A. LICHTENWALTER, Chicago, and two greatgrandchildren.<br />

He was a member of the <strong>Fulton</strong> Masonic F. and A.M. and the Modern Woodman of<br />

Kokomo.<br />

Funeral rites will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Ditmire Funeral home in <strong>Fulton</strong>, with the<br />

Rev. William KEITH officiating. Masonic rites and burial will be in the Mausoleum at the Crown<br />

Point cemetery in Kokomo.<br />

Edward Buchanan<br />

Edward BUCHANAN, 88, Kewanna, died late Saturday night in Woodlawn hospital.<br />

He was born in Cass <strong>County</strong> Dec. 8, 1870, to James and Mary C. BUCHANAN. He<br />

moved to Kewanna from <strong>Fulton</strong> 12 years ago.<br />

He was married in 1895 to Harriet E. BROWN, who survives. Also surviving are two<br />

daughters, Mrs. Roy (Louise) WHYBREW, Kewanna, and Mary BUCHANAN, Logansport; two<br />

brothers, C. C. BUCHANAN, Logansport and Dr. Ray BUCHANAN, Grand Island, Neb; two<br />

grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One son preceded him in death.<br />

He was a member of the I.O.O.F. of Kewanna and the Presbyterian church.<br />

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Harrison funeral chapel in Kewanna,<br />

with the Rev. Irving PHILLYS, Logansport, officiating. Burial will be in the Metea cemetery.<br />

Friends may call at the Harrison funeral home.<br />

Ruth Graves<br />

Mrs. Ruth GRAVES, who had lived at 130 West Third street for about a month after<br />

moving here from Kokomo, died at 8 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn hospital. She had been ill for<br />

one week.<br />

Mrs. Graves was a sister of Mrs. W. E. (Mae) GOOCH, Second and Jefferson streets.<br />

<strong>The</strong> body has been taken to the Fenn funeral home in Kokomo, where services will be<br />

conducted Thursday afternoon.<br />

Mrs. Ed Hagan<br />

Mrs. Ed HAGAN, R.R. 1, Rochester, was found dead in front of her home at the<br />

southeast edge of the city limits about 1 p.m. today. She apparently had been raking leaves when<br />

she suffered a heart attack. <strong>The</strong> Foster & Good funeral home ambulance was called to the scene.<br />

No further details were available.
