Charles A. Good<br />

Funeral services were held this afternoon at White Pigeon, Mich., for Charles A. GOOD,<br />

73, former Kewanna resident, who died at his home near Middlebury Saturday morning. Death<br />

came suddenly without any previous illness. Burial was in the White Pigeon cemetery.<br />

Mr. Good was born in Pulaski county, Dec. 7, 1885, and had lived near Middlebory since<br />

moving from Kewanna 12 years ago. He was married Feb. 23, 1910 to Eva MASTERSON, who<br />

survives.<br />

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia GRIFFITH, Pierceton, and Mrs. Wilma<br />

HENDRICKS, White Piegon; four grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Matt WEISENTERGER,<br />

Walton.<br />

Vause Polen<br />

Vause POLEN, Kewanna, died Sunday at the Fort Wayne Veterans hospital, where he<br />

had been admitted Friday. He had been in failing health for some time.<br />

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. <strong>The</strong> body is being returned to the Harrison funeral<br />

home in Kewanna.<br />

Vause Polen<br />

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Harrison funeral home in<br />

Kewanna for Vause POLEN, 75, Kewanna, who died Monday morning in Veterans hospital at<br />

Fort Wayne after a long illness.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. C. D. BARRINGER and the Rev. Floyd SAXTON will officiate at the last rites<br />

and burial will be in the Kewanna I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.<br />

Mr. Polen was born Feb. 24, 1884, at Gosport, O., the son of Mr. and Mrs. William<br />

POLEN. He was married June17, 1934, to Golda TAYLOR of Rochester, who survives.<br />

He was a past master of the Kewanna Masonic lodge; a member of the Church of Christ,<br />

the Eastern Star and the American Legion.<br />

Survivors besides the wife are two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Van BRINGLE, Indianapolis, and<br />

Mrs. Lucille BRUNK, Long Beach, Cal, and one brother, William [POLEN], Danville, Ill.<br />

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Sharon church for John M.<br />

FRETTINGER, 79, R.R. 4, Rochester, who did Tuesday at Woodlawn hospital. Burial will be in<br />

the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Kewanna. Friends may call at the Harrison funeral home in Kewanna<br />

after noon Thursday and the body will lie in state at the church an hour prior to the service.<br />

Mr. Frettinger was born Oct. 17, 1879, in Charleston, Ill., the son of James and Elizabeth<br />

ALLISON FRETTINGER. He was married to Della GOODWIN, who died in April, 1958.<br />

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Hazel DARKWOOD, Chicago; Mrs. Gladys<br />

TURNER, Cessna Park, Ill., and Mildred [FRETTINGER], at home; six sons, Frank<br />

[FRETTINGER], Rochester; Ralph [FRETTINGER], Wanatah; David Paul [FRETTINGER],<br />

South Bend, and William, Roy and Walter [FRETTINGER], all at home; ten grandchildren, and<br />

one sister, Mrs. Minnie COOK, Independence, Ia.
