former June 21, 1958.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m in the First Presbyterian church with the Rev.
Donald DECKER, Garfield Park, Ill., officiating, assisted by the Rev. James SCHUMACHER.
Burial will be in the Richland Center I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Sunday
and until noon Monday at Foster and Good funeral home and at the church from 1-2 p.m. Monday.

Arthur Deamer
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon in Grand Rapids, Mich., for Arthur
DEAMER, 83, a former superintendent of Fulton county schools who moved from the county
about 30 years ago.
Mr. Deamer, who taught school in Leiters Ford and Talma, suffered a stroke
Thanksgiving Day and died Friday.
The son of Aaron and Margaret DEAMER, who lived in Newcastle township, Mr.
Deamer was county superintendent of schools in 1904, 1905 and 1906.
Among the survivors are the widow, the former Kate HAIMBAUGH of Newcastle
township; a nephew, George DEAMER, Jr.; R.R. 5, rochester; a brother-in-law, Porter
HAIMBAUGH, R.R. 1, Rochester; four children, and several nephews.

Arthur Deamer
Arthur DEAMER, 83, for whom funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon,
lived in Cedar Rapids, Ia., rather than Grand Rapids, Mich., as previously reported.
A former Fulton county superintendent of schools, Mr. Deamer suffered a stroke
Thanksgiving Day and died Friday.
Services were conducted in Cedar Rapids.
Josephine Shaffer
Miss Josephine SHAFFR, 88, Akron, died at 6:45 a.m. Today in the Miller nursing home
here. She had been in ill health for 16 months.
Born Aug. 7, 1871, in Akron, she had lived in that vicinity all her life except for 20 years
in Chicago. She was the daughter of William and Julia ANDERSON SHAFFER, the last survivor
of four daughters.
Miss Shaffer’s occupation was practical nurse. She attended the Akron Church of God.
A cousin, Elsie YOUNG of Mollola, Ore., survives.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Sheetz funeral home at Akron with the Rev.
Harold CONRAD officiating. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Friends may call at the
funeral home after noon Wednesday.
