Minnie Chestnut<br />

Mrs. Minnie CHESTNUT, 86, a former Rochester resident, died at 1 p.m. Thursday in<br />

the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. E. (Edith) BRUBAKER, in South Bend.<br />

A native of Spencerville, Mrs. Chestnut was born Aug. 2, 1872, and moved to Rochester<br />

as a young girl. Her husband Charles CHESTNUT, died Oct. 15, 1919. <strong>The</strong> couple lived in<br />

Rochester for many years. Mrs. Chestnut moved to South Bend about 15 years ago.<br />

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Irene WEBB, Chicago, and Mrs. BRUBAKER; three<br />

granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren.<br />

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Hollis funeral home at South Bend and burial<br />

will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Rochester. Graveside services will be conducted about 2:30<br />

p.m.<br />

Fred Callender<br />

Fred CALLENDER, former Rochester resident, died Thursday night at his home in Fort<br />

Lauderdale, Fla.<br />

Mr. Callender’s wife is the former Mrs. Marie BAKER of Rochester.<br />

<strong>The</strong> body is being returned to Indiana for burial but funeral arrangements still are<br />

indefinite.<br />

Charles E. Rouch<br />

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home for<br />

Charles Eugene “Jerry” ROUCH, 72, who died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn hospital of<br />

carcinoma of the chest. Dr. Claude YOUNG will officiate and burial will be in the I.O.O.F.<br />

cemetery here.<br />

Friends may call at the funeral home.<br />

Mr. Rouch had been a hospital patient for six days and death came after a year’s illness.<br />

He had been in serious condition six months. He resided at 620 Indiana avenue.<br />

Born Dec. 26, 1886, at Athens, he was the son of George and Mary HALDERMAN<br />

ROUCH and had spent almost all his life in this community. He was married May 11, 1911, at<br />

Rochester, to Elizabeth WHITE, who survives. A retired laborer, he was a member of the Moose<br />

and Eagles lodges here.<br />

Surviving besides the wife, are three daughters, Mrs. Ruby ROBINSON, Kokomo; Mrs.<br />

Mildred BAILLIEUL, Rochester, and Mrs. Geraldine BAILLIEUL, Southwick, Mass.; nine<br />

grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl BLUE, Chicago, and Mrs. May<br />

FUGATE, Rochester. Preceding him in death were five brothers, Ralph, Earl, Vernon, Rex and<br />

Herschel [ROUCH].
