Sarah Reid<br />

Mrs. Sarah “Sadie” REID, 91, a native of Akron and former Rochester resident, died<br />

sudeenly at the Masonic home in Franklin at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. She had lived at the home the<br />

last 10 years.<br />

Born Aug. 24, 1867, she was the daughter of William and Catherine KOONS BITTERS.<br />

On Oct. 24, 1893, she was married in Rochester to Lester S. REID, who died in 1919.<br />

Mrs. Reid ws a member of the Grace Methodist church here and the Order of Eastern<br />

Star.<br />

Surviving are a son, Paul [REID], Ferndale, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Marian)<br />

BECK, Fort Wayne; a sister, Mrs. A. A. GAST, Akron; two granddaughters, and five greatgrandchildren.<br />

A daughter preceded her in death.<br />

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Moyer-Haupert funeral home in Akron with the<br />

Rev. D. L. SLAYBAUGH officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery.<br />

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday.<br />

Mrs. John H. Johnson<br />

Mrs. John H. JOHNSON, former resident of Rochester, died Tuesday night at the<br />

Newaygo <strong>County</strong> Convalescent hospital near Fremont, Mich. She resided at White Cloud, Mich.<br />

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Floyd THOMAS, Rochester, and Mrs. Robert<br />

WAGONER, R.R. 6, Rochester; and two sons, Harry JOHNSON, Rochester, and Lewis<br />

JOHNSON, R.R. 5, Rochester.<br />

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.<br />

Thursday, May 14, <strong>1959</strong><br />

Alice M. Imler<br />

Mrs. Alice Maude IMLER, 69, died today at 5:50 a.m. at Woodlawn hospital, where she<br />

had been a patient for the past 10 days. Mrs. Imler who resided five miles northeast of Rochester,<br />

had been in ill health from a heart ailment the past 2 1/2 years.<br />

Born May 11, 1890, in Tippecanoe county, she was the daughter of Anthony and Mary<br />

WHITE CHAPMAN. She was married Dec. 24, 1914, at Colburn, Ind., to Caughey R. IMLER,<br />

who survives. <strong>The</strong> Imlers resided northeast of here the past 13 years.<br />

Mrs. Imler was a member of the Athens E.U.B. church.<br />

Surviving, besides the husband, are seven daughters, Mrs. Floyd COL- - -, Frankfort;<br />

Mrs. Basil ALLEN, Rochester; Mrs. Arthur WARD, Convoy, O.; Mrs. Kenneth PERKINS,<br />

Anderson; Mrs. William D. BUSH, Brookston; Mrs. Max HOFHERR, Fort Wayne, and Mrs.<br />

Leroy HERREN, Niles, Mich.; one son, William Jasper IMLER, Flora; twenty-eight<br />

grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna BASINGER, Lafayette, and two brothers, Harry and Lewis<br />

CHAPMAN, both of Lafayette.<br />

Funeral rites will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Athens E.U.B. church with the Rev. Wayne<br />

JOHNSON of Claypool officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope cemetery at Athens. Friends<br />

may call after 1 p.m. Friday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home.
