Sarah Cloud<br />

Sarah “Sally” CLOUD, 93, died Friday at 10:50 p.m. at her home in Macy after only a<br />

three-hour illness.<br />

She was born Sept. 30, 1865, near Inwood, Ind., the daughter of Micajah and Nancy<br />

BLACKBURN FREELAND. She was married in 1881 at Marshall county to John L. CLOUD,<br />

who died in 1922. Mrs. Cloud had resided in the Macy community since 1881 and was the last<br />

surviving charter member of the Macy Order of Eastern Star, organized in 1892. She had assisted<br />

in managing the Cloud general store at Macy for over 50 years.<br />

She was a member of the Macy Methodist church.<br />

Surviving are three grandchildren, Paul CLOUD, Bourgon; Richard CLOUD,<br />

Edwardsburg, Mich., and Mrs. Henry (Virginia) IRWIN, Columbus; one great-grandcaughter and<br />

one nephew. Two sons, Otto and Ben [CLOUD], preceded her in death.<br />

Funeral rites will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the Macy Methodist church with the Rev.<br />

Richard SUMNER officiating. Burial will be in the Plainview cemetery at Macy. Friends may<br />

call at the Ditmire funeral home in <strong>Fulton</strong> after 6 p.m. today and at the church from Monday noon<br />

until the hour of the service. <strong>The</strong> O.E.S. will conduct services Sunday at 8 p.m. in the funeral<br />

home.<br />

Charles W. Gow<br />

Charles W. GOW, 71, died Saturday at 10:50 p.m. at his home, 600 Indiana avenue, from<br />

Bright’s disease and a heart ailment. He had been in failing health three years.<br />

Last rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the<br />

Rev. J. MURPHY of Calvary Temple church, South Bend, officiating, assisted by the Leroy<br />

Shelton American Legion Post. Burial will be in the Crown Hill cemetery at Winamac. Friends<br />

may call at the funeral home.<br />

Mr. Gow was born Feb. 16, 1888, at Dent., Minn., the son of David and Margaret<br />

HITTLE GOW. He came to this community 38 years ago from near Monterey. On Nov. 3, 1920,<br />

at Winamac, he was married to Martha Ann LIVINGSTON, who survives.<br />

Mr. Gow, a retired farmer, was a member of the Calvary Temple church, the American<br />

Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.<br />

Surviving, besides his wife, are one son, Randy [GOW], at home; two brothers, Edward<br />

[GOW], Dent, Minn., and Arthur [GOW], Edgemont, S.D.; one sister, Millie RASMUSSEN,<br />

Muskegon, Mich., and numerous nices and nephews.
