Benjamin A. Woodcox<br />

Benjamin A. “Ben” WOODCOX, 53, died today at 3:25 a.m. in South Bend’s Memorial<br />

hospital, where he had been a patient since Oct. 23. Ill since June 23, he resided nine miles<br />

northeast of Rochester on R.R. 5.<br />

Born March 10, 1906, in Rochester, he was the son of Harley and Melvina VAWTER<br />

WOODCOX and had spent his life in this community. He was married Dec. 23, 1931, in<br />

Rochester to Dorotha BIXLER, who survives.<br />

Mr. Woodcox was a member of the Talma Christian church.<br />

Surviving besides the wife are seven children, Ulrich, Lonnie, Melvin and David<br />

[WOODCOX], all at home; Mrs. Stanley (Edith) PRZESTWOR, South Bend; Mrs. Richard<br />

(Martha) SHODDY, Talma, and Arthur [WOODCOX], in the Air Force and now on leave from<br />

duty in Japan; his mother, Mrs. Harley WOODCOX, Rochester; five grandchildren; one brother,<br />

Ulrich [WOODCOX], Rochester, and four sisters, Mrs. Lewis (Louise) POLK and Miss Betty<br />

WOODCOX, both of Rochester, and Mrs. William (Mary) TYLER and Mrs. Austin (Annabelle)<br />

KINCAID, both of Gary.<br />

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home<br />

with the Rev. Eldon EVANS of the Walnut Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial will be in<br />

the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.<br />

Daniel Henricks<br />

Daniel HENRICKS, 48, Batavia, Ill., a native of Fulrton county, was killed in an<br />

automobile accident near Aurora, Ill., Saturday. He died when the car in which he was riding hit a<br />

tree.<br />

Born at Bruce Lake Station, Nov. 3, 1910, he was the son of Frank and Ollie<br />

HENRICKS. He attended Kewanna schools and moved from the county about 25 years ago.<br />

Mr. Henricks was a member of the Community church at Bruce Lake and was a veteran<br />

of World War 2.<br />

Surviving are the widow, Barbara [HENRICKS]; a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie SABOE,<br />

Aurora; a granddaughter; three brothers, Carl [HENRICKS], Rochester; Bud [HENRICKS],<br />

Phoenix, Ariz., and Paul [HENRICKS], El Paso, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Willis (Naomi)<br />

GREEN, Rochester; Mrs. Francis (Mary) HUDKINS, Kewanna, and Mrs. Cuba BRACKETT,<br />

Aurora, and his step-mother, Mrs. Kathryn HENRICKS, Bruce Lake.<br />

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Aurora. At 1 p.m. Wednesday, graveside<br />

services will be conducted at the Pleadsant Hill cemetery at Bruce Lake with the Rev. Darwin<br />

LAVENGOOD officiating.<br />

Gilbert F. Sheely<br />

Gilbert F. SHEELY, 74, Carmel, died Sunday at 1:20 a.m. in the Methodist hospital in<br />

Indianapolis after suffering a heart attack 12 hours previously.<br />

A resident of Argos since 1924, Mr. Sheely had retired in 1954 after long service in the<br />

hardware business. Surviving are the wife, one son, one daughter, six grandchildren, one brother,<br />

and one sister.<br />

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Grossman funeral home at Argos<br />

with the Rev. Robert STEWART of Indianapolis officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill<br />

cemetery at Plymouth. Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Wednesday.
