Omer Rouch<br />
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Ditmire funeral home at <strong>Fulton</strong> for<br />
Omer ROUCH, 78, <strong>Fulton</strong>, who died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at Parkview hospital in Fort Wayne.<br />
Death came after a month’s illness.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rev. George CRANE of Rochester will officiate at the rites and burial will be in the<br />
Salem cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.<br />
Born Nov. 7, 1880, in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, Mr. Rouch was the son of Emmanuel and Amanda<br />
SHELTON ROUCH. He was married in 1915 to Claudia GOODNER.<br />
A member of the <strong>Fulton</strong> E.U.B. church, he is survived by the wife and one brother, Vuel<br />
[ROUCH], <strong>Fulton</strong>.<br />

Mary C. Black<br />
Mrs. Mary C. BLACK, longtime resident of Rochester, died at 90 years of age<br />
Wednesday at 10:15 p.m. in the Mabel Waddle nursing home, 2112 North Delaware street,<br />
Indianapolis.<br />
Mrs. Black was the widow of George BLACK, who was a partner in the Black and<br />
Bailey Hardware in Rochester for 19 years until his death Dec. 24, 1943. <strong>The</strong> Blacks had resided<br />
many years at 1014 Monroe street.<br />
Mrs. Black, in failing health for several years, had been residing in Indianapolis where<br />
her son, Thomas, lives.<br />
Born in Miami county Sept. 4, 1868, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas<br />
BUTLER and had spent most of her life in the Rochester community. She was married Sept. 17,<br />
1893, at Rochester.<br />
Mrs. Black was a member of the Grace Methodist church, Eastern Star and Rebekah<br />
lodge. While a Rochester resident, she was most active in local women’s affairs, also belonging to<br />
the Pythian Sisters, Victoria Reading Circle and Woman’s Club.<br />
Surviving are the son, Thomas [BLACK], Indianapolis; one grandson, Thomas<br />
[BLACK], Jr., a student at Wabash college; one granddaughter, Mrs. William PURCELL,<br />
Princeton, N.J., and numerous nieces and nephews. One son, John [BLACK], preceded her in<br />
death in 1918.<br />
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home<br />
with Dr. Claude YOUNG officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may<br />
call at the funeral home after noon Friday.<br />
John Siple<br />
John “Jay” SIPLE, 82, Mishawaka, a native of Argos, died at 4 a.m. today of a heart<br />
seizure at St. Joseph hospital, Mishawaka, where he had been admitted at 7 p.m. Wednesday<br />
evening. Mr. Siple had been ill several years.<br />
He was born June 8, 1876, in Argos, the son of Jacob and Anna FISH SIPLE. He was<br />
first married to Myrtle SMITH, who died in 1904, and then to Dora MUNSELL, who died in<br />
1932.<br />
Mr. Siple had lived in Mishawaka since 1934, moving there from Argos. He was a<br />
farmer while living in Argos, but had been employed by the C. J. Turk company in Mishawaka.<br />
He was a member of the Jordan Baptist church, Argos.
