J. Hugh Wiseley<br />

J. Hugh WISELEY, 75, who was born and reared in Kewanna, died at 7 a.m. today in<br />

Leon, Ia., where he had lived for the last several years. He was the brother of Mrs. J. W.<br />

MESSMAN, 226 West Third street.<br />

Mr. Wiseley lived in Kewanna for about 27 years before moving to Tennessee and then<br />

to town. Services and burial will be in Kewanna, but date, time and place have not been<br />

determined yet.<br />

John F. Thompson<br />

John F. THOMPSON, 77, R.R. 1, Akron, a lifelong resident of the Akron vicinity, died in<br />

his home of a coronary occlusion at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday. He had been ill 10 months.<br />

Born in <strong>Fulton</strong> county Aug. 16, 1882, he was the son of William and Laura BIGGS<br />

THOMPSON and was a farmer by occupation. On March 11, 1905, he was married to Mamie<br />

WOOLPERT, who survives.<br />

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Emma HUNTER, R.R. 1, Silver Lake, Mrs.<br />

Helen HARTZLER, Disko and Mrs. Marjorie DAVIS, Mentone; four sons, Byron [THOMPSON],<br />

R.R. 1, Akron, Ed [THOMPSON], Akron, Noman [THOMPSON], R.R. 1, Roann, and George<br />

Richard [THOMPSON], Wakefield, Kan.; a brother, Jeff [THOMPSON], R.R. 1, Akron; a sister,<br />

Mrs. Granville (Maude) HOLLOWAY, Rochester; twenty grandchildren and eighteen greatgrandchildren.<br />

Four children preceded him in death.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Akron Church of God with the Revs. D. L.<br />

SLAYBAUGH and Harold CONRAD officiating. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery.<br />

Friends may call at the residence, one-half mile west of Akron, after 7 p.m. today and<br />

until noon Saturday and at the church from 1-2 p.m. Saturday. <strong>The</strong> Tom Haupert funeral home in<br />

Akron is in charge of services.<br />

Inez Blum<br />

Funeral services were conducted in LaGrance, Ill., Wednesday for Mrs. Inez HOOVER<br />

BLUM, 73, LaGrange, daughter of the late A. E. and Ida HARTER HOOVER of Akron. <strong>The</strong><br />

mother was a sister of the late Andrew and Charles HARTER of Akron.<br />

Three daughters, a son and several grandchildren survive Mrs. Blum.<br />

Robert Joe Lewis<br />

Robert Joe LEWIS, 24, 527 Ohio street, died at 3:30 a.m. today in Woodlawn hospital,<br />

where he had been a patient for one week. Cause of death has not been determined yet.<br />

Born in Rochester on Aug. 16, 1935, he had been a resident of this vicinity all his life. He<br />

was the son of Raymond “Bid” and Eleanor WILLIAMS LEWIS. A laborer, Mr. Lewis was<br />

married in Rochester in 1952 to Charlene NUELL and was a veteran of the U. S. Army.<br />

Surviving are the wife and three children, Thomas Dale, Jacqueline and Kim Elaine<br />

[LEWIS], all at home; the parents, of Rochester; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee LEWIS,<br />

Rochester, and Mrs. Sadie WILLIAMS, Ludington, Mich.; a brother, Donald [LEWIS], Rochester<br />

and two sisters, Mrs. Betty GREEN and Mrs. Martha SCOTT, both of Rochester.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the<br />

Rev. James A. SCHUMACHER officiating, assisted by the Rochester American Legion post.<br />

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
