Charles D. Edgington<br />

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home for<br />

Charles D. EDGINGTON, 56, 505 Madison street, who died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in Woodlawn<br />

hospital.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Richard SUMNER of Macy officiated, and burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery<br />

here.<br />

Mr. Edgington was employed at the Shultz Body Shop here.<br />

Albert Pontius<br />

Albert PONTIUS, 73, Rochester, died at the McFarland nursing home here at 6 p.m.<br />

Monday of a coronary occlusion. He had been ill for six years.<br />

A native of Akron, he was born Aug. 18, 1886, the son of Frank and Etta BROWN<br />

PONTIUS. He had lived in Rochester for five years, coming here from Akron. He was a retired<br />

carpenter.<br />

Several cousins survive.<br />

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sheetz funeral home in Akron with the<br />

Rev. D. L. SLAYBAUGH officiating. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Friends may call at<br />

the funeral home.<br />

Charles J. Lewis<br />

Charles Jackson LEWIS, 74, East Rochester, died at 1 p.m. today in Woodlawn hospital,<br />

where he was taken this morning. He was the brother of Lee LEWIS, East Ninth street. <strong>The</strong> body<br />

was taken to the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home where final rites are pending.<br />

Charles J. Lewis<br />

Charles Jackson “Doc” LEWIS, 73, died of a heart attack at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in<br />

Woodlawn hospital, where he had been admitted only 4 1/2 hours earlier. Mr. Lewis resided at<br />

314 1/2 Clayton street.<br />

A retired cook, Mr. Lewis had been in apparent good health before being stricken at<br />

1 a.m. Tuesday.<br />

Born May 10, 1886, in Sevastapool, he was the son of Ephriam and Emma Jane STUDY<br />

LEWIS. He had spent his eitire life in Rochester except for seven years in Missouri.<br />

A veteran of World War I, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie [LEWIS], in<br />

1951. Surviving are a daughter, Velma Lee WILLIAMS, Fort Worth, Texas; one son, John<br />

[LEWIS], in the U.S. Navy, and two brothers, Lee [LEWIS], Rochester, and Bert [LEWIS],<br />

Chicago.<br />

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. <strong>The</strong> Zimmerman Brothers funeral home is in<br />

charge and friends may call there after 7 p.m. Thursday.
