Charles M. Baggerly<br />

Charles M. BAGGERLY, 88, died Monday at 12:30 p.m. at his home in <strong>Fulton</strong>. A<br />

retired farmer, he was a former sexton of the <strong>Fulton</strong> cemetery.<br />

Born Oct. 14, 1870, in Edger county, Illinois, he was the son of John and Mary SLAGLE<br />

BAGGERLY. His first marriage was in 1894 to Melissa SHINN, who died in 1942. He later was<br />

married to Pearl MONTGOMERY, who survives.<br />

Also surviving are a son, Clifford [BAGGERLY], R.R. 6, Rochester; two grandchildren;<br />

eight great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Fannie LAVERY and Ida BAGGERLY, both of<br />

Indianapolis.<br />

Mr. Baggerly came to <strong>Fulton</strong> 38 years ago from Pulaski county.<br />

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Ditmire funeral home at <strong>Fulton</strong> with<br />

the Rev. Franklin ARTHUR officiating. Burial will be in the <strong>Fulton</strong> cemetery. Friends may call<br />

at the Ditmire chapel.<br />

Mabel P. Sullivan<br />

Mrs. Elmer (Mabel Pearl ) SULLIVAN, who lived for 52 years in her home seven miles<br />

southeast of Argos on Route One, died in her home at the age of 75 years Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.<br />

She had been ill for five years, in serious condition for the last two weeks.<br />

Born in Clinton county March 29, 1885, Mrs. Sullivan had lived in <strong>Fulton</strong> county for<br />

many years before moving to Marshall county. She was the daughter of Thomas and Lydia<br />

HISEY PARTRIDGE, one of nine children. Five sistes and two brothers preceded her in death.<br />

On Feb. 16, 1907, she was married to Elmer SULLIVAN, who died June 26, 1955. Mrs.<br />

Sullivan had been a member of the St. John’s Lutheran church in Rochester for a number of years.<br />

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Walter (Leona) SULLIVAN, who married a brother of Elmer<br />

SULLIVAN and who lives in the Sullivan home on R.R. 1, Argos; a nephew, Gerald SULLIVAN,<br />

R.R. 1, Argos,and several other nieces and nephews.<br />

Services will be in the St. John’s Lutheran church here at 2 p.m. Friday, with the church<br />

pastor, the Rev. Delmar KRUEGER, officiating. Burial will be in the Reichter cemetery northeast<br />

of Rochester.<br />

Friends may call at the Grossman funeral home in Argos after 7 p.m. today and until<br />

noon Friday. <strong>The</strong> body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.<br />

Thursday, August 13, <strong>1959</strong><br />

Bertha Swick<br />

Mrs. Bertha SWICK, R.R. 2, Silver Lake, died at the age of 90 years Wednesday at 11:45<br />

p.m. in her home. She had been ill three years.<br />

A native of Berne, Switzerland, she was born there Dec. 20, 1868, the daughter of Bartley<br />

and Magdalena SUMME. She came to this country at the age of 19 years. Her marriage was<br />

April 6, 1886, to Allison W. SWICK, who died in 1942.<br />

She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society, Purdue home economics club and the<br />

Center E.U.B. church of Silver Lake.<br />

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Vern (Margaret) MEESE, Millersburg; Mrs, Irwin
