Donald E. Kistler<br />

Donald E. KISTLER, 36, Logansport, son of Mr. and Mrs. Evert KISTLER of Rochester,<br />

died Saturday at Logansport’s St. Joseph hospital after a short illness. He was an employee of the<br />

Pennsylvania railroad.<br />

Born March 15, 1923, in Royal Center, he was the son of Evert and Grace WILLIAMS<br />

KISTLER. He was a veteran of World War II.<br />

Also surviving are his wife; two sons, Donald and Ronald [KISTLER], both at home; one<br />

sister, Mrs. Alan COOK, Logansport, and several nieces and nephews. A son, Tommy<br />

[KISTLER], preceded him in death.<br />

Friends may call at the Krueger funeral home in Logansport, where the Rosary will be<br />

recited at 7:45 p.m. today. Funeral rites will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Joseph’s church at<br />

Logansport with Msgr. Maurice FOLEY officiating. Burial will be in the Cline cemetery at Royal<br />

Center.<br />

Daniel Shobe<br />

Daniel “Dan” SHOBE, Hammond, a former resident of Newcastle township, died at<br />

12:30 a.m. Sunday in Hammond after a year’s illness. He had been hospitalized for six weeks.<br />

Born in Lima, O., in 1875, he was 84 years of age.<br />

Among the survivors, are a brother, J. H. SHOBE, Rochester and several nieces and<br />

nephews of this city.<br />

Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hammond, with burial in that city, also.<br />

Clarence McCrosky<br />

Clarence McCROSKY, 79, former Wayne township farmer, died at 10 p.m. Sunday in<br />

Woodlawn hospital, where he had been a patient the past 10 days. Mr. McCrosky, who resided at<br />

816 Wheatland avenue, Logansport, had been in failing health 10 1/2 months and was in serious<br />

condition 10 days.<br />

Born Aug. 9, 1879, in Rochester township, he was the son of Lew and Nancy<br />

WILLIAMS McCROSKY. He was married by the Rev. Guy CHAPLIN Jan. 6, 1943, in<br />

Rochester to Ada MASEK, who died in 1958. Mr. McCrosky had lived in Logansport 14 months,<br />

moving there from the Prairie Grove community in Wayne township.<br />

He was a member of the Prairie Grove E.U.B. church and the Rochester Eagles lodge.<br />

Surviving are two stepsons, Rudy G. NOVAK, Logansport, and Lewis J. NOVAK,<br />

Chicago; two brothers, Cecil McCROSKY, Rochester, and Harley McCROSKY, R.R. 6,<br />

Rochester; five step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.<br />

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home<br />

with the Rev. Lloyd OVERMYER of the Burket E.U.B. churc officiating. Burial will be in the<br />

Salem cemetery, Liberty township. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
