Anna Kendall<br />

Mrs. Anna KENDALL, 84, widow of Dr. J. T. KENDALL who practiced medicine in<br />

Argos for many years, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of a niece, Mrs. Charles (Helen<br />

JOHNSON) STEGMAN, in Chicago. She had been ill nine months.<br />

Mrs. Kendall had lived in Argos most of her life, moving to her niece’s home in Chicago<br />

two years ago. Though living in Chicago, Mrs. Kendall maintained her Argos home.<br />

She was born in Plymouth Dec. 25, 1874, to Henderson and Susan RUDD JOHNSON.<br />

Her husband died Feb. 4, 1940. Mrs. Kendall was a member of the Argos Monday club.<br />

Surviving besides Mrs. Stegman are another niece, Mrs. Chris (Helen) LESSERER,<br />

Englewood, Cal., and two nephews, Arthur TATE and George TATE, both of Argos.<br />

Final rites will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Grossman funeral home at Argos with the<br />

Rev. William SEATH of Chicago officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery at<br />

Plymouth. Friends may call at the funeral home afgter 7 p.m. today.<br />

Mrs. Noah Shively<br />

Mrs. Noah SHIVELY, 915 Madison street, died of a heart attack at her home this<br />

afternoon about 1 o’clock.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Zimmerman Brothers funeral home is in charge of arrangements.<br />

Rev. George R. Crane<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. George R. CRANE, 75, a native of England and a retired minister, died this<br />

morning at 9:30 o’clock in the Pontius nursing home here after a four week illness. He resided at<br />

624 <strong>Fulton</strong> avenue.<br />

Born Sept. 12, 1884, at Chopington Guide Post, England, he was the son of Herbert and<br />

Mary Lilly CRANE. He was married Sept. 8, 1904, at Morpheth, England, to Elizabeth Jane<br />

SCOTT, who died June 9 of this year.<br />

Mr. Crane had lived in Rochester for the past 25 years, coming to the United States in<br />

1912.<br />

A member of the Independent Fundamental Churches of America, the Rev. Crane and his<br />

wife for many years conducted evangelistic services in this area. He also served a number of<br />

United Brethren churches as pastor. Until retiring several years ago, he acted as school patrolman<br />

for children crossing Main street at Sixth street.<br />

<strong>The</strong> only survivors are a niece, Bessie LANGLEY, St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, and two<br />

nephews in England.<br />

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with<br />

the Rev. Paul GRANT of Logansport officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F.<br />

cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Saturday.
