Mrs. John H. Johnson
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the North Liberty Methodist church for
Mrs. John H. JOHNSON, former Rochester resident, who died at Fremont, Mich., Tuesday night.
She resided at White Cloud, Mich.
Surviving are four sons, Harry and Lewis [JOHNSON], both of Rochester; Wayne
[JOHNSON], North Liberty, and Worth [JOHNSON], Chicago, and five daughters, Mrs. Floyd
(Marjorie) THOMAS and Mrs. Robert (Mary) WAGONER, both of Rochester; Mrs. Cecil
(Mabel) HAINES, Nappanee; Mrs. Harold (Genevieve) BRYANT, Eau Claire, Wis., and Mrs.
Kenneth (Daisy) DOAN, North Liberty.
Burial will be at North Liberty.
Dora B. Steinke
Mrs. Dora B. STEINKE, 78, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon at her home near
Kewanna.
Born near Crawfordsville on March 10, 1881, she was the daughter of B.N. and Cerilda
BOOHER GRIMES. She was married Dec. 19, 1900 to Charles STEINKE, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jess Van CLEAVE, Waukegan, Ill.; Carl STEINKE, Pekin,
Ill., and Ralph STEINKE, Romeo, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Florence BROWN, Kewanna, and
Mrs. Bessie McCLAIN, Pekin, Ill.; fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. One
son, Leo [STEINKE], preceded her in death.
Mrs. Steinke was a member of the Prairie Grove E.U.B. church.
Rites are pending at the Harrison funeral home in Kewanna, where friends may call after
noon Friday.
Sarah Reid
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah “Sadie” REID, 91, a native of Akron and former resident
of Rochester, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, rather than at 10 a.m. as previously announced.
Rites will be conducted at the Moyer-Haupert funeral home in Akron and burial will be
in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. The Rev. D. L. SLAYBAUGH will officiate.
Rosea Miller
Mrs. Charles M. (Rosea) MILLER, [88], who lived in Akron until about three years ago,
died at 12:45 a.m. today at the Lee Memorial hospital in Dowagiac, Mich.
She had lived with her son, Ernest [FLOOR], in Dowagiac the last three years.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Sheetz funeral home in Akron.

Stella M. Parkington
Mrs. Stella M. PARKINGTON, 79, Kokomo, aunt of Mrs. Ray (Della) FULTZ of
Rochester, died Wednesday morning at her home after more than a year’s illness.
Born near Rochester on Sept. 8, 1879, she was the daughter of Frank and Edna CRIPE
DOWNS. In 1906, she married Charles E. PARKINGTON of the Parkington Outdoor
Advertising company. She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Kokomo.
Surviving besides Mrs. FULTZ, are the husband and several cousins of Rochester.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Long funeral home at Kokomo. Burial will be
in the Crown Point cemetery at Kokomo.
